Canceled Weeknd Show Now Has Makeup Dates

The Weeknd is set to come back to LA on Thanksgiving to do two performances, as a way of making up for the canceled show on September 3.

The “Blinding Lights” and “Save Your Tears” singer will return to SoFi stadium, located in Inglewood, Saturday November 26. The previous show was rescheduled “due to unforeseen circumstances,” according to an announcement by his concert and team promoter Live Nation.

The “unforeseen circumstances” mentioned here involved the singer losing his voice after just three songs into the sold-out set near the beginning of this month. This happened during the second out of his two-night appearances at SoFi.

The Weeknd has also announced there will be a new performance thanks to overwhelming demand”. This will be on Sunday, November 27. The concert will mark the end of his tour which started in Philadelphia in July.

“The newly added date will be the last chance for fans to see this tour and its next-level production in North America,” stated the artist’s team. “The stadium tour has been an incredible success, selling out every show across 20 dates, breaking attendance records and grossing over $125 million dollars to date.”

Concert attendees who are ready to replace their September 3 tickets will have them automatically transferred to November 26. If they can’t attend, there’s a refund option on October 27, but then their original tickets most likely won’t be valid for the show that’s on November 27.

The September 3 concert was abruptly cut short while the Weeknd was performing “Can’t Feel My Face.” After that he walked off stage, following which another number played till the house lights came on. The singer then came back and told the audience about losing his voice, and apologized for the show’s cancellation.

A few days after that, he promised fans that he would return and resume the tour with a pair of shows in Toronto. These took place last week.

“Doctor says my voice is safe and with rest I’ll be solid and able to bring the show my TORONTO fans are waiting for,” said the Weeknd, whose given name is Abel Tesfaye, on Instagram.
